Sharon Wearing

Group Director of Wheatley Development and City Building.

Sharon Wearing has worked in the public sector throughout her career, most recently serving as Chief Officer Finance and Resources and Section 95 Officer for the Integration Joint Board within Glasgow’s Health and Social Care Partnership.

Her career began at the National Audit Office, where she completed CIPFA Accountancy training. Following this, Sharon moved to Strathclyde Regional Council before joining Glasgow City Council Social Work Services in 1996 after local government reorganisation.

She has been extensively involved in finance and resources, leading teams across a wide range of functions, including finance, governance, service reform, HR, organisational development, health and safety, planning, performance and research, IT, administration, training, property, transport, and contract management.

This breadth of experience provided a strong foundation for the Executive Director role at City Building.

Sharon joined Wheatley’s Executive Team in November 2025 as Group Director of Wheatley Development and City Building.
