Have your say in the regeneration plans for Lochside.
Wheatley Homes South and Dumfries and Galloway Council are working closely with the local community to transform Lochside into a thriving, healthy and sustainable neighbourhood for people to live, learn and work.
The £130 million transformation of Lochside will see existing homes upgraded, new energy-efficient homes built, better connectivity, enhanced active travel routes and more welcoming green space.
Over 1500 residents and local businesses have already shaped the plans – and a new residents’ group will ensure the community stays at the heart of Lochside’s future.

Establishment of new Lochside regeneration residents group
Come along and hear about our proposal for a new community-led group to support the regeneration of Lochside: the Lochside Community Collective.
The group will support the regeneration, amplify local voices, and coordinate with key partners such as Dumfries and Galloway Council and Wheatley Homes South. It will replace the existing Lochside Local Delivery Group, providing a refreshed, more inclusive and flexible structure that better reflects the current needs and aspirations of the community.

Masterplan launch event on Wednesday, 2 July 2025
Come along and see the approved masterplan for Lochside, learn more about the regeneration and hear from Wheatley Homes and Dumfries and Galloway Council staff.
The formal launch of the Lochside Masterplan will take place at 4pm.
This is a drop-in event, so feel free to come by at any time during the session.
