Supported Housing

Our Supported Housing team delivers essential support to our most vulnerable people across the region, through sheltered housing, floating support, supported accommodation for young care leavers, and supported accommodation for homeless.

Wheatley Homes South, part of Wheatley Group, is registered as a Housing Support Provider with the Care Inspectorate who carry out regular inspections of Wheatley Homes South’s housing support services to ensure that high quality services are provided in line with the Health and Social Care Standards.

For any questions regarding these services, please get in touch with us on 0800 011 3447.

Sheltered Support

The Sheltered Support Service is an accommodation-based service. We have 14 sheltered schemes located across the region in Gretna, Annan, Lockerbie, Locharbriggs, Moffat, Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbright, Gatehouse of Fleet, and Stranraer.

Wheatley Homes South sheltered staff make regular contact with residents to check on their wellbeing and make sure they are accessing all the services they need to live independently in their home for as long as possible. A weekly charge for the service is applicable (payable to Dumfries and Galloway Council).

Floating Housing Support

The Floating Housing Support service is available to our more vulnerable tenants living in mainstream properties across Dumfries and Galloway. Wheatley Homes South Housing Support Workers assist with practical tasks to help them sustain and manage their tenancies. Without this essential support, many tenants would lose their tenancy and face homelessness.

Young Persons Project

Since 2012, as an organisation we have been supporting young people leaving care in Dumfries and Galloway in the specialist supported housing development at Holm Park View (Dumfries). The project is funded by Dumfries and Galloway Council and the Big Lottery.

This development of 10 self-contained properties and the support help prepare young people leaving care to live independently and maintain their own tenancies in the community.

Temporary Supported Accommodation

In 2013, our organisation opened Supported Accommodation (homeless) projects located in Dumfries and Annan. On-site support staff help prepare residents to move on to long-term accommodation while providing a safe, supported environment for homeless people in Dumfries and Galloway.
