Domestic abuse happens in our communities and right across the country.
Abusers and victims can be male or female, any race or religion and from all different types of background.
Domestic abuse has a big impact on children, even if they're not directly experiencing abuse.
It can go on for a long time and often gets worse over time. It can be life threatening.
Domestic abuse is carried out by partners or ex partners. It can be:
intimidation, degradation, isolation and control, with the use or threat of physical or sexual violence
emotional or psychological
harassment and stalking
online or digital abuse.
We've signed up to the Chartered Institute of Housing's 'Make a Stand' campaign to help tackle domestic abuse. If you want to know more and how we can help, please contact our Customer First Centre on 0800 479 7979. We're here 24/7.
